Register your interest: Join RECCo’s Consumer Consent Solution working groups

RECCo has now taken ownership of the Consumer Consent Solution working groups, moving the work into a more industry-led phase. Register your interest to help shape practical, interoperable consent arrangements that protect consumers and support secure data sharing.

Overview

Consumer consent plays a central role in enabling secure data sharing, protecting consumers, and supporting innovation across the retail energy market, including emerging areas such as Digital Services and Consumer-Led Flexibility.

As Code Manager, we’re responsible for ensuring these arrangements are robust, interoperable, and work in practice.

Working group structure

Following stakeholder feedback, the previous three groups (Technical, Governance, and Consumer Protection) are being streamlined into a clearer, more flexible structure:

  • An umbrella Consumer Consent Solution working group (meets around every six weeks): Webinar-led sessions providing market-wide updates, the overall delivery plan, and a summary of key topics
  • Several topic-specific working groups (meets every two weeks): Focused deep dives into priority issues in greater depth

What the working groups will do

The Consumer Consent Solution working groups will provide a structured forum for stakeholders to:

  • Share evidence and practical experience
  • Identify risks, gaps, and implementation challenges
  • Inform the evolution of consumer consent arrangements in a proportionate, consumer-focused way

Membership and participation

We’re seeking participation from across the retail energy market, including suppliers, data users and providers, consumer bodies, innovators, cross-sector experts, and policy stakeholders.

  • Engagement events are open to all interested parties, sharing broad and accessible updates to the whole retail energy market
  • Working groups are flexible; participants can choose to join based on their expertise and interest, allowing for deeper dives into specialist topics without unnecessary duplication

Stakeholders are invited to register their interest via this short form. This will be used to support balanced group composition and to match participants to the most relevant working group topics.

A calendar of events and agendas will be published on our Consumer Consent Hub (Retail Energy Code Portal)
