{"id":28947,"date":"2026-01-19T12:20:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T12:20:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retailenergycode.co.uk\/?p=28947"},"modified":"2026-01-19T12:20:34","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T12:20:34","slug":"register-your-interest-join-reccos-consumer-consent-solution-working-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vwd.website\/fs\/register-your-interest-join-reccos-consumer-consent-solution-working-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Register your interest: Join RECCo\u2019s Consumer Consent Solution working groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consumer consent plays a central role in enabling secure data sharing, protecting consumers, and supporting innovation across the retail energy market, including emerging areas such as Digital Services and Consumer-Led Flexibility.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As <strong>Code Manager<\/strong>, we\u2019re responsible for ensuring these arrangements are robust, interoperable, and work in practice.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Working group structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following stakeholder feedback, the previous three groups (<a href=\"https:\/\/vwd.website\/fs\/putting-consumers-first-the-journey-to-a-trusted-consumer-consent-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technical, Governance, and Consumer Protection<\/a>) are being streamlined into a clearer, more flexible structure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An umbrella Consumer Consent Solution working group <\/strong>(meets around every six weeks): Webinar-led sessions providing market-wide updates, the overall delivery plan, and a summary of key topics<\/li>\n<li><strong>Several topic-specific working groups<\/strong> (meets every two weeks): Focused deep dives into priority issues in greater depth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What the working groups will do<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Consumer Consent Solution working groups will provide a <strong>structured forum<\/strong> for stakeholders to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Share evidence and practical experience<\/li>\n<li>Identify risks, gaps, and implementation challenges<\/li>\n<li>Inform the evolution of consumer consent arrangements in a proportionate, consumer-focused way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Membership and participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We&#8217;re seeking participation from across the retail energy market, including suppliers, data users and providers, consumer bodies, innovators, cross-sector experts, and policy stakeholders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engagement events are <strong>open to all<\/strong> interested parties, sharing broad and accessible updates to the whole retail energy market<\/li>\n<li>Working groups are flexible; participants can choose to join based on their expertise and interest, allowing for deeper dives into specialist topics without unnecessary duplication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stakeholders are invited to <strong>register their interest via this <a href=\"https:\/\/orsnoq1e00j.typeform.com\/to\/hMZBbBK3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">short form<\/a><\/strong>.
