We\u2019ve made sure Retail Energy Code (REC) systems, processes, and governance are ready to underpin this fundamental market reform.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What we\u2019ve delivered<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M8: Code &amp; Central Systems Readiness<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Implemented REC Changes<\/li>\n<li>Updated Category 3 products and guidance documents<\/li>\n<li>Launched the new Meter Configuration Table<\/li>\n<li>Sent Data Transfer Network updates to ElectraLink<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M10: Go-Live Readiness<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Deployed changes to the Electricity Enquiry Service<\/li>\n<li>Qualified Milestone 10-ready REC Parties<\/li>\n<li>Received Management Assertions on readiness from REC Parties<\/li>\n<li>Completed internal operational readiness and training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Why this matters<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement is a major reform stemming from <strong>Ofgem\u2019s Electricity Settlement Reform Significant Code Review<\/strong> (SCR). It introduces the <strong>Target Operating Model<\/strong> (TOM), which restructures market roles, enhances data processing, and mandates industry-wide compliance to support Great Britain\u2019s transition to a smarter, low-carbon energy system.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MHHS will:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Make the true cost of electricity supply clearer<\/li>\n<li>Enable near real-time price signals to market participants<\/li>\n<li>Support innovative tariffs and competitive services for consumers<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the need for costly grid balancing and infrastructure upgrades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These reforms are transformative. They fundamentally change how the electricity market operates and are driving the move towards a smarter, more flexible energy system.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s next<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">REC Parties will continue to qualify in phases over the next year, with migration starting next month and running for around 18 months.
