What is the Switching Incentive Regime \u2013 and why does your opinion matter?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Switching Incentive Regime (SIR) is a performance framework introduced by Ofgem in 2023 under its existing price control arrangements. It assesses how well DCC delivers switching services in line with the Retail Energy Code, focusing on both customer engagement and operational performance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your feedback plays a vital role in shaping this assessment. It helps inform Ofgem\u2019s regulatory and financial decisions\u2014including any adjustments made through the Centralised Registration Service Performance Adjustment (CRSPA). The outcome directly impacts how DCC is held to account and how it may be financially rewarded or penalised.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How does RECCo use the survey to evaluate DCC\u2019s performance?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

RECCo is responsible for evaluating the customer engagement element of Ofgem\u2019s assessment. This means understanding whether DCC listens to feedback, communicates clearly, and effectively supports you. The evaluation steps beyond technical delivery to focus on how well DCC engages with the retail energy industry it serves.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To do this, we need insights from those who<\/span> interact directly with DCC<\/span><\/b>. That\u2019s why we\u2019ve launched a <\/span>short industry survey<\/span><\/b>\u2014giving you the opportunity to share your experiences and help shape Ofgem\u2019s annual performance review.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The survey focuses on DCC\u2019s engagement as a Switching Operator, Central Switching Service Provider, and CSS Certificate Authority. These functions are critical to ensuring smooth, reliable consumer switching\u2014making effective engagement with REC Parties and Switching Data Service Providers essential.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When is the online SIR Survey live?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The survey is open now<\/strong> and will close on 23 May 2025<\/strong>. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete<\/strong>\u2014but your input will have a significant impact.<\/p>\n

How will REC Party survey responses inform Ofgem\u2019s assessment?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

We\u2019ve partnered with independent research agency Researchcraft<\/strong> to collect your feedback. Your responses will form part of a <\/span>comprehensive report submitted to Ofgem in July 2025<\/span><\/b>. This report contributes to Ofgem\u2019s Price Control Consultation and may inform financial adjustments through the CRSPA.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>All feedback will remain confidential unless you choose to share your identity. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What happens next?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Once the survey closes, Researchcraft will compile the results and report them confidentially to RECCo. We will combine this feedback with our operational review to complete the final SIR 2025 Assessment Report<\/strong>, which will be submitted to Ofgem by <\/strong><\/span>31 July 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will keep you informed via the REC Portal and through relevant committees, including the Change Advisory Board (CAB), Performance Assurance Board (PAB), and the REC Issues Group (RIG).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
